Life Story for Robert "Bob" Deutsch

Robert "Bob" Deutsch was born in Rochester New York to Celia and Philip Deutsch on 01/15/1928 and passed away on 10/11/2016.

He studied at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York. (BS degree) and at the University of Hawaii-Manoa (MBA degree).

Robert worked for Bendix as a Field Engineer and was sent to Honolulu Hawaii to set up the Pacific Missile Range for the Navy. He also worked at Fort Shatter and Hickman AFB as a expert in Far East Communications. After a 28 year career in Engineering and Communications, Bob retired and moved to San Diego, California and worked at AA Travel.

His community service includes volunteering for Boy Scouts of America and Hawaii Kai Lions Club.

He enjoyed sailing, travel, and family. He was a member of Temple Emanu-El in Honolulu for 23 years.

Bob is survived by his devoted wife Bernice, his children: Melanie, Jonathan, and Mark; his grandchildren: Jennifer, Ashley and Maile; and his nephews Steven and Alan.

Bob Deutsch was a brilliant man both academically (National Honor Society) and mechanically. He could fix anything you gave him! He taught us all the value of good, hard, honest work.

HE WILL BE IN OUR HEARTS FOREVER.
