It grieves us to announce the passing of Herbert S. Dale on October 15, 2014 in Oceanside, California. Mr. Dale passed away at home surrounded by his family.
Mr. Dale was born in Greenville, North Carolina, in 1930, and left after graduating high school to attend Schillinger School of Music (now Berklee) in Boston, Massachusetts, on a state scholarship. He played in Tony Pastor’s band, travelling around the mid-west and north east. He left the band to marry his true love, Bonnie Dansker, of Winthrop, Massachusetts, in 1953. Their only child, Bruce, was born in Boston in 1957.
After a 42 year upward career in the recorded music industry, Mr. Dale and his wife retired to Half Moon Bay, California where they lived for 14 years. In 2014, they moved to Carlsbad, California to be closer to their family.
Mr. Dale leaves behind his wife of 61 years, Bonnie, his son, Bruce (Sherry), and 3 grandsons, Joshua, Daniel, and Jeremy, of Oceanside, California.
