Shulim E Tsimring
Shulim Tsimring was born June 1, 1924 in Zhitomir, Ukraine (USSR). In 1927 pogroms forced his family to flee to Penza, Russia. Shulim was always very good at math and sciences, and in 1945 he enrolled in Saratov State University. After getting his Ph.D. in Physics and Mathematics he eventually became a professor of physics at Saratov State University. In 1958 he married Miroslava Sverdlova, and they had two sons, Lev and Michael. In 1963 he and his family moved to Gorky, where he became a professor of physics as well. He stayed there until 1996 when he and Miroslava moved to San Diego to follow his sons. Here he lead a happy life enjoying his children and grandchildren, traveling the world, and writing a physics textbook that eventually was published both in the United States and in Russia.
