Condolences

Condolence From: Merrill Jacobson
Condolence: Hello family of Norman. I did know Norman from many years ago when I was in the neon sign business. I sold signs to Circle Realty and others. I lost touch with Norman in the 60's. He was truly a gentleman and a man of his word. I see he is at Home of Peace where my father (Isadore Jacobson) is as well. My best regards. Merrill

Condolence: It was a pleasure working with Norman at Seacrest Village. I truly enjoyed the stories he shared with me of his life. We loved talking about his favorite restaurants and I even made my own bucket list of restaurants to visit per his recommendations. He was a brilliant, humorous and and very appreciative man. He amazed me with all his accomplishments in his life and he was especially proud of his family. So glad I got to spend time with him. I will miss his company.

Condolence: Getting together every week with Norman and Crystal was a highlight for Rich, Diane and Pumpkin! We all adored Norman and loved hearing stories of his wonderful and varied life experiences.

Good food, good friends, good company!

We will miss his company and his treats for Pumpkin!

Condolence From: Wendy Knutsen, PT
Condolence: I had the privilege and honor of knowing and working with Norman over the years he was at Seacrest Village. I also worked with June before she passed. Norman was always cheerful, pleasant, gracious and full of optimism. One of the fun things we were able to do was pool therapy. This was very enjoyable for the both of us!
I greatly admired him as a fine man, a model patient and a friend. I will miss him.
My thoughts are with his family, who he loved deeply and was proud of beyond words.
Sincerely and warmly,
Wendy Knutsen, PT

Condolence From: Menachem Ben-Mordechai
Condolence: I first met Norman a little over 9 years ago through Partners in Torah, For those who do not know Partners in Torah is an organization that partners people together to study Torah.

Even though I was supposed to be the teacher over the nine years of study I think it was I who learned the most. Norman was constantly asking questions that caused me hours of research to answer. If that had been all I learned it would have been well worth all the time however what Norman taught me about life was by far for me the most valuable lessons.

One of the things Norman would always say that he contributed his long life to gens, personally I think it was Norman's unwavering positive outlook.

Norman, may HaShem bless you and keep you

Condolence: Look up the word Mensch in the dictionary of your choice. Norman's picture should be there.
While he lived an incredible, blessed, long-life he will be missed by all that he touched. As a friend for over 15 years, I will miss his wit, knowledge, and love for life. I will miss him as a substitute father/grandfather, mentor and friend. Thank you Norman and lovely family for allowing me the honor of time I was allowed to share with him. I will miss him dearly!

Condolence From: Diane Berg
Condolence: It was by chance that Norman and I met. He was visiting the Diaspora Museum in Tel Aviv and discovered that I had placed our family tree in their archives. He immediately wrote to me to see how we were related. We had several meetings in San Diego where we collaborated on our common ancestry and shared family stories. I flew out the week before his 100th and he showed me the newspaper article touting his sharp mind and positive outlook. When I could not open the article on my laptop he said, "Don't worry, I'll make it into a PDF!!!" That was Norman. He was not afraid to learn new things. I am deeply saddened that my amazing cousin is gone. I will continue telling his story to my grandchildren so he will remain a part of our legacy. Norman will always be my blessing and inspiration and will forever be missed. My sympathies to his sons and their families.
