Obituary for Roger Alan Zinn

Roger A. Zinn

Roger A. Zinn passed away on Feb. 14 at the Southpark Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Austin, Texas. He was 89. Roger was born in 1929 in Kansas City, Mo., to Henry and Mollye Zinn. He graduated from the University of Illinois in 1950. He is survived by three children, Cheryl Zinn (Steve Kirschner), Janet Zinn and Kenneth Zinn (Roxie Herbekian); five grandchildren, Rachel Zinn Wall (Logan Wall), Marcie Kirschner, Jonah Zinn (Johanna Reátiga), David Zinn and Daniel Zinn; one great-grandchild, Sarah Zinn; and his brother, Larry Zinn (Sandra Zinn). He was predeceased by his eldest son, Howard Zinn (Janis Zinn). Roger founded Consolidated Finance & Investment in Mission, Kan., in 1955 and sold it in 1982. Shortly thereafter he retired and moved to San Diego, Calif. and subsequently to Austin, Texas. He was an avid skier, tennis and bridge player. Funeral services will be held on Feb. 18 at El Camino Memorial Park, San Diego. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Congregation Beth Israel Hunger Project, San Diego.
