Estelle Feldman Greenstein - Esther Chaya bat Etel
She was a devoted wife, mother, bubbie, aunt and friend to many.
Estelle was born in LA in 1927.
Her family, Mommer, Poppy and brother Zane, moved to San Diego in 1942.
She graduated from San Diego High.
Attended San Diego College, now SDSU, majoring in zoology.
Met her beloved Jerry Greenstein at a Temple dance.
Married in 1946 at the US Grant Hotel
Had 3 children Steve, Janet, Jim
Bubbie has 7 grandchildren Aaron, Shanna, Andrea, Janey, Jordan, Jason and Rachel
Many friends in San Diego, many since high school and college.
Returned to San Diego State University in her 40’s to obtain a Masters in Marriage & Family counseling, and worked for Jewish Family Service.
Enjoyed Bridge and book minyon with friends, Saturday breakfasts at the beach, cooking, reading, Jeopardy, keeping up with current events and shopping at Costco. She was in the same book minyon for 60+ years.
She lived 59 years on Rockhurst Dr., San Diego, CA
Married 59 ½ years before Zadie passed away at 80 years old in 2006.
Being a close family was important to Estelle and Jerry. Rockhurst Dr was the gathering place for Passover, Thanksgiving and other annual events. Bubbie and Zadie took their kids and grandkids on annual adventures such as the UCSB summer family vacation center to foster a close family.
Estelle will be truly missed.
