Obituary for Kenneth S Breman

Kenneth S Breman
KENNETH S. BREMAN

November 30, 1933 - November 16, 2016

Kenneth Sherman Breman, 82, died Wednesday evening, November 16, 2016 at Kaiser Permanente Zion Medical Center following a brief illness.

He leaves his three children: daughter Michelle Olson and two sons, Phillip and David and his six loving grandchildren, Kendra, Kyle, Zachary, Addison, Charlotte and Sydney. As well his brother Joel and wife Vicki and their two children, Matthew and Johanna.

He was born in Chicago and raised in Los Angeles, he was the son of Herman and Irene Breman.

He would often regale us with stories from his early years in Los Angeles. A graduate of Hamilton High School, he went on to attend UCLA for a year before he transferred to UC Berkeley where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Criminology.

While in college, Ken joined the ROTC which then led to joining the Army during the Korean conflict where he was a military policeman with a ranking of 2nd Lieutenant.

After serving in the Army, Ken returned to California and worked for Occidental Petroleum as part of their real estate development team. This led him into a real estate marketing career that would span the next couple of decades. He was responsible for the marketing efforts of many of Southern California’s largest housing developments stretching from Mission Viejo all the way to El Cajon. He worked directly with some of the biggest players in the development community and won numerous accolades for his efforts.

Ken had a true passion for reading everything that Barnes and Nobel could stock their shelves with, from newspapers, to magazines, to physics books and the true crime stories that he loved. Ken loved writing and spent much of his later years taking pen to paper to create poetry, lyrics, short stories and even a novel that was proudly shared amongst friends and family.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 20 at 12:00pm at the home of Roslyn Breman. Please phone Phil Breman at 818-358-5096 for details. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to in Ken’s honor.
