Condolence: I am so sorry to hear of Bernards passing. He was a bright light in our community.

Condolence: Akiko and I have been happy to know Bernie. He always had a ready smile and kind word. We will miss him very much.

Condolence: Bernie and I have been best friends for over 40 years. We shared our lives together in every aspect month by month and he included me in his Family. I met him when he was teaching the principles of health insurance at San Diego City College and he began his class with "This is not your conventional College course, I am going to teach you how to make money selling group health insurance to Corporations" and he had me right there and he was right. We became close friends and he came on my boat frequently and we caught Marlin, Tuna, Albacore, Yellowtail and other pelagic species together. When we flew to the Bahia de Los Angeles resort and fished for a week he got the most incredible fishing line backlash in his reel and I took a picture of him and this blown up reel and from that point on when my Son Michael or I backlashed a reel we said out lowd "I got a Bernie" for many years. Our personal lives were intertwined and he sincerely was my Life Coach and we talked frequently for support. I tell everyone that any money I ever made in selling medical insurance was due to Bernie and he would always reply with my arm around him....."Well, not really, Steve did it on his own" and I would deny that, he would give out his humble smile and laugh and say....."Oh you Kid" while displaying his inimical chuckle. A few weeks ago, after refusing some offered fishing trips on "Loaner" he invited me to fish on his boat in the Make A Wish Tournament as we had done this in the past, now I wish I had accepted his invitation. I express my condolence to the Jaffe Family and do know that I am grieving as well....he was and is my Best Friend Forever.
