Life Story for
Martin Goorevitch
MARTIN GOOREVITCH, 91, of Cardiff-by-the-Sea, CA and formerly of Laguna Woods, CA, died on Saturday, July 9th, 2016 after a brief illness. He was born on April 19th, 1925 in Bronx, NY. He was the second son of Lena and Jacob Goorevitch and the brother of the late David Goorevitch. For nearly 67 years he was the beloved husband of Ruth Estelle (Brown) Goorevitch. Together they had three daughters, Carol Wadlinger of Erdenheim, PA, Barbara Cook of Atlanta, GA and Charlotte Goldstein of San Diego, CA and four grandsons, Benjamin and Daniel Wadlinger, and Max and Joshua Goldstein.
Martin was proud to have served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1943-1946 as a Yeoman 2nd Class Petty Officer. He was awarded the World War II Victory Medal and the American Theatre Medal, now known as the American Campaign Medal. Martin retired from an extended career in aerospace from Rockwell International and Hughes Aircraft. Above all he valued family, health and education. Throughout his entire life he remained passionate about fitness, tennis, running and classical music.
