Life Story for Abe Perel

Abe Perel
Abe was born in 1916 in Zamosc, Poland, the oldest of 7 children. His family was poor so he left school and began working with his father at the age of 10. They traveled from village to village selling sundries. He immigrated to America with his younger brother in 1936. Neither spoke a word of English. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in WWII and served under General George Patton in Europe. He landed on Utah Beach in Normandy, France. He was a medic and ambulance driver during the war and liberated Buchenwald concentration camp. After the war, he moved to Los Angeles, California where he married Malka Dubin. They were married for 67 years until her death in 2013. He owned a successful butcher shop and grocery business in Los Angeles and worked tirelessly to provide a great life for his family. His pride and joy was his daughters, Trudy & Debbie.
He died peacefully on November 29th with his daughters by his side. It's hard to sum up a 99 year life in a paragraph so to that end I will say he was an inspiration to all who knew him and he put a smile on everyone's face. He was a positive force, a fearless character who inspired many and was loved by many. The world was a better place with him in it. Abe is survived by his two daughters, Trudy and Debbie, and two grandchildren, Ryan and Shayna. He will be missed everyday.
