Condolences

Condolence From: Ashley Taylor
Condolence: I met David in middle school when he came and spoke to my class. I’m located in Colorado Springs and I’ve never forgot about his incredible story, as it touched me very deeply. I recently repurchased his book and plan to share it with my children. He was a very kind man and I’m grateful for having been able to meet him. This was truly a loss to the world.

Condolence: I met Mr. Faber in 2001, as a student at Black Mountain Middle School in San Diego, just a month or so before advancing to Mt. Carmel High. He was due to speak to us later that day, but I was sitting in the school's office just as he arrived that morning. The receptionist introduced him to me, and I shook his hand. It was at that moment that I had my first experience with "touching history". I looked at this man, and I felt through his hand that he was more than a witness to the greatest crime in human history - he had seen it, he had lived it, he had endured it... and he had survived it. It was a potent experience, one I remember all these years later.

And now, he has gone to his rest, to join his lost family in that world where there is no pain.

Rest easy, Mr. Faber - let us who heard you carry your memories forward.

Condolence: Mr. Faber came to my high school in 1997 to give a talk. It was a heart-wrenching presentation but it instilled in me the power of the human spirit in the face of so many atrocities. I send much love to his family during this difficult time

Condolence: n 2005 David travelled here to NJ and spoke 9 times in 6 locations in only 5 days. I met David in San Francisco earlier in 2006. He is the most impressive person that I have ever met in my life. His courage, gentleness and spirit will long be remember. Based on his visit, Because of Romek has been required reading for all students in the Bladk Horse Pike Regional School District in Blackwood, NJ. He will be issed by many a heart. The word is a bit darker now that he is no longer in it. God bless him.
