Obituary for Keramat Noorollah

Keramat “Tony” Noorollah


Keramat Noorollah, known to family and friends as “Tony,” passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2014, in Flagstaff, Arizona. He was 73 years old.

Mr. Noorollah was a part owner and Vice President of Oasis Bedrooms in Phoenix, Arizona where he worked with his brother for the past 32 years. Although he primarily managed the warehouse, he served a variety of functions.

Mr. Noorollah was born on January 8, 1941, in Shiraz, Iran to Aziz and Motaram Behboodikhah. He was the eldest of five children. As a young man, he travelled the Iranian country with his father, assisting with his father’s business. He moved to New York City as a young adult and attended college. He earned an Associate’s Degree in mechanical engineering while meeting his wife, Sharon R. Goldstein. He held multiple jobs as a dining room attendant and waiter while working his way through school. He eventually earned a job as a warehouse supervisor for Algers Creations, a heat sealing company that specialized in inflatable items in Brooklyn, New York.

Mr. and Mrs. Noorollah had two children, Andrew and Javid, both born in Brooklyn New York. In 1972 the family moved to the Bronx where they lived until 1981 when Mr. Noorollah moved to Phoenix, Arizona to work with his brother. The rest of the family followed in 1982. Mr. and Mrs. Noorollah remained in the Phoenix area, settling in Glendale, Arizona.

Mr. Noorollah was an avid fan of golf, reading, movies, working, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was married for 47 years.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon, their sons, Andrew and Javid, and their wives, Carole and Lori, respectively. He is additionally survived by his two brothers and twos sisters and his five grandchildren, who affectionately called him, “Poppy”, Sophia, Alex, Livia, Uriel, and LeeAm.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association.
